Biography
Massachusetts
B.A., Psychology, Hamilton College, 2024
Why did you choose to pursue this degree, and why did you choose Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine to pursue this degree?
Though I loved studying psychology in undergrad, I knew I ultimately wanted to find a career that focuses on animal welfare. I chose MAPP for so many reasons, with one being MAPP’s strong alumni network full of others with similar career interests to mine. Additionally, MAPP’s interdisciplinary nature regarding the human-animal relationship influenced me to choose the program, as it will allow me to gain a deeper breadth of knowledge and perspective regarding animal welfare.
What are your interests and/or experience relative to your program?
I am particularly interested in animal behavior, especially after my prior experience shadowing a pet behavior consultant. I also have strong interests regarding how companion animals can affect people’s physical and mental health.
What are your career goals after completing the program?
I know MAPP will guide me to a career that both advocates for animal welfare and deepens the human-animal bond. I look forward to seeing where the program takes me!
