Who We Are

The Cummings School Office of the Associate Dean for Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, and Climate (ADDIEC) is responsible for leadership, coordination, consultation, and strategic oversight for increasing diversity, broadly defined, at Cummings School.

What We Do

The Office of the ADDIEC is responsible for building a culture of inclusion and fostering a climate of belonging in Cummings School through engagement at all levels with faculty, staff, trainees, and students. Working together with the Office of the Vice Provost for Institutional Inclusive Excellence, and other groups, the Office will raise the profile of diversity and inclusion at Cummings School, enhance communication and facilitate provision of services to students, faculty, and staff, and contribute to a culture of belonging and equity.

Services

• Recruitment of professional DVM students and graduate students, including those
• from under-represented groups
• Mentorship of students from diverse backgrounds in our academic programs
• Courses and co-curricular activities focused on topics in diversity, equity, inclusion
• (DEI)
• DVM and graduate student orientation programs regarding topics in DEI
• Work with other groups towards resolution of bias incidents and other issues
• Support for student and employee affinity groups
• Review of school policies and procedures with an equity lens
• Community outreach programs for K-12 students and other groups
• Adventures in Veterinary Medicine programs
