Biography
Boston, MA
B.A. Visual Arts/Biology, Brown University, 2024
Why did you choose to pursue this degree, and why did you choose Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine to pursue this degree?
I chose to pursue the MAPP degree to further my understanding of animal science/policy as my undergraduate studies lacked opportunities in these areas. I have always wanted to work with animals in some capacity and my desire to contribute to animal health through legislation led me to this program! I chose Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine specifically because of its reputation as a pioneer in vet school animal welfare.
What are your interests and/or experience relative to your program?
My interests relative to the program center on policies concerning industrial farming and wildlife management, particularly on infectious diseases that persist in these environments. I became interested in infectious disease from my biology background and shadowing at a wildlife clinic. Additionally, I was involved in an animal-welfare club during undergrad!
What are your career goals after completing the program?
I plan to pursue a D.V.M. My ultimate goal is to work at an institution where I can influence animal policy while also providing medical care, combining expertise in both areas to maximize my animal-care impact.
