Biography

Environmental Studies, minor in Climate Justice, Science, and Policy
Brandeis University, 2023
Why did you choose to pursue this degree, and why did you choose Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine to pursue this degree?
I chose to pursue an MCM because I am passionate about endangered species conservation as well as wildlife conservation methods in human-controlled environments, including zoological settings. This program stood out to me because it is unique and promotes using a One Health approach to solve environmental issues. I am also excited to participate in my one-month externship during the program!
What are your interests and/or experience relative to your program?
I am interested in wildlife management through conservation breeding programs, but I also would like to learn more about the intersections between human health, animal health, and ecosystem health. Prior to applying to the MCM program I served as a Planetary Health Campus Ambassador for the Planetary Health Alliance, which focuses on the connection between human behavior and environmental changes, and the impact it has on human health.
What are your career goals after completing the program?
After completing this program, I would like to promote the One Health approach at zoological institutions, with a focus on conservation breeding and population management.
