Why did you choose to pursue this degree, and why did you choose Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine to pursue this degree?

I have always enjoyed observing the intricate interactions between people, animals, and nature. Conservation medicine beautifully integrates these three principles and holds a significant role in our society. After experiencing conservation efforts firsthand in Africa, I realized that this field of work was my true calling. The renowned conservation program and wildlife clinic at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine played a pivotal role in influencing my decision to enroll.

What are your interests and/or experience relative to conservation medicine?

I have a keen interest in delving deeper into the realm of illegal wildlife trade. One of my recent conservation experiences took place in the Republic of Congo, where I actively participated in various initiates. This included setting up video cameras and contributing to dog training programs aimed at combating illegal poaching activities. Moreover, I had the opportunity to assist in the relocation of animals for eventual release into their natural habitats.

What are your career goals after completing the program?

Upon completion of this program, my aspiration is to pursue a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree as a continuation of my education. Although I am currently uncertain about the specific direction of my future career, I am eager to apply both the skills and knowledge I acquire to make a meaningful contribution wherever I choose to practice.
