Biography
New Jersey
M.S. in Infectious Diseases and Global Health’24
B.S. Biology
Loyola University MD, 2022
Why did you choose to pursue this degree, and why did you choose Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine to pursue this degree?
Hello everyone, my name is Reece Lenaz (he/ him/ his). I attended Loyola University MD with a B.S. in biology in 2022. I am at the end of my gap year where I worked as a veterinary technician at a local animal hospital. During my undergraduate career, I conducted research on how complementary and alternative medicines can modulate an immune response. My passion for immunology led me to the MS-IDGH program to strengthen my knowledge before entering veterinary school. My background includes research using cell culture and confocal microscopy, working in a veterinary hospital for five years, and partaking in two global veterinary programs focusing on endemic diseases in Australia and Panamá.
Outside of veterinary medicine, I mainly allocate my time to hiking and traveling with friends and family. As excited as I am to join the program, I will be leaving my three dogs, a Black Lab, a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, and a French bulldog home in New Jersey.
What are your career goals after completing the program?
After completing the MS-IDGH program, I hope to attend veterinary school and initially work as a traveling veterinarian.
