Why did you choose to pursue this degree, and why did you choose Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine to pursue this degree?
I chose this program because wildlife conservation is one of my passions and something I plan to center my career around. I am eager to learn more about the concept of conservation medicine and use what I learn in my career.
What are your interests and/or experience relative to conservation medicine?
For as long as I can remember protecting wildlife has been a priority of mine. Recently, while working as a zookeeper intern at Tanganyika Wildlife Park in Kansas, I became fascinated with primates, specifically their behavior. I also learned a lot about a plethora of species but became equally attached to the lemurs we had in the facility.
What are your career goals after completing the program?
After graduation, I plan to focus my attention on primates in their natural habitat by researching their behavior to assist in conservation efforts.
