Biography
Massachusetts
B.S., Veterinary Science, Becker College, 2000
Why did you choose to pursue this degree, and why did you choose Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine to pursue this degree?
I have worked in animal welfare regulatory compliance for many years. This has become a passion of mine next to veterinary medicine, which was my original career path. I would like to advance within the field and perhaps progress into policy change. This program is the perfect fit for my career advancement goals. Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine has made a huge impression on me since childhood, growing up in the area and as an employee for the last 10 years. This was a natural choice for progression, and I am honored to be a part of it.
What are your interests and/or experience relative to your program?
I began my career as a veterinary technician where I worked in small animal medicine and surgery. I later shifted to lab animal research which has driven my strong interest in animal welfare, policy, and compliance. I also have a side interest in wildlife and environmental impact, particularly in sea turtles.
What are your career goals after completing the program?
My hopes after completing the program are to be a leader in the world of animal welfare compliance, policy change, and the protection of wildlife and animals used in research.
