University of Massachusetts-Amherst, 2022
Why did you choose to pursue this degree, and why did you choose Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine to pursue this degree?
My name is Olivia Knuth and I graduated last summer from UMASS, -Amherst. After graduation, I continued my work in a veterinary clinic as a veterinary assistant until last fall. I started a job at Charles River’s animal laboratory as a research technician and I now currently work at Sterling Greenery. I chose the MS-IDGH program because it is a great opportunity to further my education in the studies of infectious diseases. I am very interested in bloodborne diseases. I worked in a serology laboratory testing animal blood samples for tick borne diseases. I wish to pursue that career again. I chose Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine because I know how thorough their education is. Outside of school, I like to work out, draw, and play Magic the Gathering with friends.
What are your career goals after completing the program?
At completion of the program, I wish to work in a diagnostic laboratory or research laboratory.
