Anatomic Pathology Residency

Our residency program in veterinary anatomic pathology provides comprehensive training aimed at achieving board certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. Residents will collaborate with a diverse board-certified faculty team, including five anatomic pathologists and four clinical pathologists. Through hands-on training using CVDL submissions, residents are exposed to case material covering dogs, cats, horses, and small ruminants, along with some zoo and exotic animals. Residents engage in weekly gross and microscopic pathology rounds, clinical pathology rounds, and specialized review sessions. Additionally, residents present at regional and national meetings, teach fourth-year veterinary students, and have opportunities to conduct small research projects aimed at peer-reviewed publication. The residency offers a competitive salary, with annual adjustments, medical benefits, and travel support to professional meetings. Applicants must have a D.V.M. or equivalent degree, and submit a curriculum vitae, letter of intent, transcripts, and three recommendation letters.

Appointments are for 12 months, with annual renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance. Upon successful completion of the program, residents receive a certificate of residency. Residents enjoy comprehensive University benefits, including health and life insurance, as well as two weeks of annual vacation, a travel allowance, and professional liability insurance.
