B.A. Biology and Spanish College, Clark University, 2023

Why did you choose to pursue this degree, and why did you choose Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine to pursue this degree?
I was unsure on what to do post-graduation. I had the privilege to meet with a professor from the program and learn so much about the courses themselves and hear first-hand students’ experiences.

I have always had a love for animals and have wanted to do a career working with them. This program will definitely deepen my knowledge of policy and human-animal relationships to better animal lives in the future.

What are your career goals after completing the program?
My goal has always been to go to veterinary school. Since I was little, I always told my dad that I would be a “doggy” and “kitty” doctor. I want to get my DVM and open up my own practice aimed to low-income Spanish speaking areas, as only 5% of veterinarians are Latinx. I want to be the change for the community as I have always had to be the translator for my family at all veterinary visits.
