Who We Are

At the Office of Professional Education (OPE), we champion a culture of academic excellence and professional growth. Our mission is to empower both faculty and students by fostering dynamic and inclusive learning environments that transcend the classroom. Through unwavering support and innovation in teaching and learning, we cultivate future leaders dedicated to advancing veterinary medicine and allied health professions.

What We Do

OPE supports faculty and student endeavors in the classroom and across campus. OPE ensures excellence in teaching in collaboration with academic and clinical departments, manages curriculum and program development, facilitates faculty development, maintains student information, scheduling, and grading systems, and provides support for the university learning management system and education tools. OPE is currently engaged in the development and implementation of a new Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) curriculum.

Services

  • Administration of the instructor and course evaluation system, with feedback provided to course directors
  • Oversight of D.V.M. curriculum review and revision processes
  • Development and maintenance of faculty and student handbooks
  • Support for Learning Management System (LMS) usage and course syllabi
  • Coordination of faculty development opportunities, including new faculty orientation
  • Outcome assessment of academic programs to meet accreditation standards

We are here to support our faculty and students in the classroom and clinics.
