Research in the department involves a variety of methodological approaches, including basic, clinical, pedagogical, and field studies, with which they investigate topics related to both animal and human health. Areas of interest include endocrine and metabolic diseases, reproductive health, systems, and cell-based opioid pharmacology and neurobiology, as well as research related to the practice of veterinary education. Members of the department are highly collaborative with internal and external research partners from both academia and industry.
Faculty members in the section of Cummings Veterinary Diagnostic Lab are involved in teaching, research and providing anatomic and clinical pathology support to the various clinics and organizations on and off campus.
