Tufts at Tech Community Veterinary Clinic provides citizens of Greater Worcester with compassionate and affordable veterinary care. Our clientele must pre-qualify to receive our significantly subsidized animal care. This is not a walk-in clinic.
Final year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) candidates and Worcester Technical High School students enrolled in the Veterinary Assisting program work collaboratively in this innovative teaching facility under the direction of experienced, highly-trained veterinarians and certified veterinary technicians to provide quality primary care for family pets.
Tufts at Tech uses month-to-month appointment scheduling, booking at least one month ahead. To make an appointment for your pet, please call 508-751-7670. Business hours are 8 am – 3 pm and appointments are available 8 am – 1 pm. If you are unsure whether you qualify for Tufts at Tech veterinary services, please contact the clinic in advance. We will be happy to discuss your family's eligibility status with you.
What to Bring
Please bring appropriate qualifying documentation (see the Financial Policies section below) as well as a photo ID. For the safety of all our patients, your pet should be on a leash (or in a pet carrier).
What Happens During an Appointment
While appointment times vary according to medical need, typically you should plan on spending approximately an hour at the clinic. Your pet will be admitted by a veterinary assisting student and then seen by a fourth-year veterinary student who will take a medical history and conduct a thorough physical examination. The veterinary student will devise a treatment plan with oversight from the Clinic Director, Dr. Greg Wolfus. All decisions regarding the treatment of your pet will be made by you and the Tufts at Tech animal care team. The pet owner of record MUST attend every appointment with a qualifier card and photo ID.
The pet population served by Tufts at Tech is composed of clients with limited financial means from the greater Worcester area. Tufts at Tech strives to improve the quality of life for under-served pets in our community. All clients must qualify for veterinary services by providing a photo ID and one of the following:
- WIC (Women, Infant and Children) card.
- SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) card.
- WHA (Worcester Housing Authority) resident card.
- Qualified Housing Authorities card.
- WTHS (Worcester Technical High School) student card.
We accept cash and credit card payments only. (We do not accept Care Credit)
