Julie Thayer
Psy. D.
Biography
Dr. Thayer is a licensed psychologist with experience providing therapy and consultation services to individuals across the lifespan. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northeastern University, and a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology. She completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Metrowest Behavioral Health Center/Trauma Center at JRI, focused on the assessment and treatment of individuals impacted by complex trauma, and has subsequently worked in clinical, supervisory and administrative roles in partial hospital and outpatient settings. She is also a member of a national training team focused on implementation of a treatment model for youth and families impacted by complex trauma. Additional areas of clinical interest include anxiety, caregiver consultation, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Services
Dr. Thayer primarily provides students on the Grafton campus with short-and longer-term clinical counseling, including evaluation and treatment of individuals and student couples, group counseling, and crisis intervention and management. She offers virtual services to health-fee paying students on the Boston campus and to Tufts students studying in Maine.
