Residents are required to undertake a research project while at Cummings School, pertaining to the field of veterinary surgery. The results must be submitted to a peer-reviewed journal for publication.

The Large Animal Surgery Residency Program at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University is designed to develop the knowledge and skill of the resident in clinical large animal surgery. A comprehensive and well-organized program is provided so that a substantial contribution will be made to the candidate’s advanced training as a surgical specialist and to help prepare him or her for the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) certifying examination.
