Why did you choose to pursue the M.S. in Animals and Public Policy (MAPP) degree, and why did you choose Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine to pursue this degree?
This degree opened a door into animal welfare without needing a degree in biology; its modules allow graduates the chance to work in both hands-on and policy and legislative roles after completion, which is important to me as I’m not 100% sure which direction I would like to end up.

What are your interests and/or experience related to the MAPP program?
My interests are broad at this stage, but through various hands-on experiences, I’ve started to discover where my passions and strengths lie. During my time volunteering in Africa and working as a farm hand in Australia, I developed a strong passion for conservation of wildlife in overpopulated tourist attractions, the Maasai Mara being one of those. As well as this, my time in Australia helped me to understand the importance of progressive farming practices on the health and welfare of the livestock and land.

What are your career goals after completing the program?
I hope to find a more specific answer to this question at the later stages of this course; however, I have specific interest in working for animal welfare, whether this be in changing policy or regulating it within either the Film or farming industry.
