Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, 2022
Biography
Dr. Mahalingam-Dhingra is originally from the northeast, where her love for horses started as a young rider at her local barn in eastern Massachusetts. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Williams College and went on to complete veterinary school at Tufts University. In veterinary school, she worked as a technician in the Hospital for Large Animals and completed research on equine asthma under Drs. Mazan and Bedenice, both of which sparked her initial interest in large animal internal medicine. She also completed a certificate in International Veterinary Medicine and had the opportunity to help provide veterinary care to working equids in Fes, Morocco in her final year at Tufts. After veterinary school, Dr. Mahalingam-Dhingra completed a rotating internship at the Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center in Ringoes, New Jersey, where she was fortunate to gain invaluable experience in all facets of equine veterinary care. Her love of internal medicine, particularly challenging respiratory and neonatology cases, continued to grow here, and finalized her decision to continue specialty training through a residency program and she was delighted to have the opportunity to return to Tufts.
