Biography

Dr. Thomas Jenei is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to serving as the Director of the Hospital for Large Animals, Dr. Jenei continues to provide elective and emergency surgical care for patients presenting to the hospital. In addition, he also has a strong research and clinical interest in surgical and post-operative care of colic patients, and lectures on the topic to third-year veterinary students.

Dr. Jenei was drawn to work at the Cummings School by its diverse faculty as well as the opportunity to treat horses suffering from a wide variety of illnesses, ranging from acute traumatic injuries, such as lacerations and fractures, to gastrointestinal disease. As a member of the faculty, he enjoys the opportunity to work with and train students in a clinical setting.

He grew up riding horses as a 4-H member, and his experiences competing and working with horses led him to pursue a veterinary career. Dr. Jenei is married to Sarah D'Oench, a veterinarian at the Massachusetts Equine Clinic in Uxbridge, Massachusetts, and enjoys hiking and swimming in his spare time. He, his wife and son reside in Grafton, Massachusetts, the home of the Cummings School.
