Biography

Stefanie Arndt received her veterinary degree from the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Foundation, Germany, in 2015 and a postgraduate research degree (DrMedVet) from the same university in 2017. After working in a private equine hospital in Germany, she completed an equine rotating internship at Marion duPont Scott, Equine Medical Center, Virginia Tech, Leesburg, Virginia, USA, and a 1-year specialized equine surgery and lameness internship at the University of California, Davis, USA. Stefanie Arndt stayed on at the University of California, Davis, to complete an equine surgery residency, which she completed in 2022. She received board certification from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in February 2023 and board certification from the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in September 2023. Stefanie Arndt is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Large Animal Surgery at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, Tufts University, Grafton, Massachusetts, USA since October 2022. She worked mainly as an emergency large animal surgeon at Tufts until October 2025. Since then she has joined the Equine Sports Medicine and elective surgery service.
Her research interests are in equine orthopedic surgery and in advanced equine musculoskeletal diagnostic imaging (especially Computed Tomography and Positron Emission Tomography).
