Biography

Dr. Joseph Davis earned his veterinary degree from Western University of Health Sciences in 2017. He then completed advanced training as an Equine Surgery and Medicine Intern at Washington State University and a Large Animal Surgery Resident at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Davis worked as a Clinical Instructor in Large Animal Surgery at the University of Wisconsin. He returned to Tufts University as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Large Animal Surgery in 2022.

Dr. Davis is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and has an interest in equine minimally invasive surgery, orthopedic surgery, and sports medicine. He has published research related to laparoscopic surgery and stifle injury.

He is originally from Washington state where he grew up on a small ranch. His spouse is a Veterinary Ophthalmologist at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Together, they enjoy backpacking, rock climbing, traveling, and snowboarding.
