Biography
Dr. Jennifer Heyward completed her doctorate of veterinary medicine at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medine in May 2020. She then traveled to Madison, Wisconsin where she completed a small animal rotating internship followed by a 4 year residency in comparative ophthalmology and concurrent master's of science degree at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine, finishing in 2025. She then achieved her Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Medicine and joined the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University as an assistant professor in the Fall of 2025. Dr. Heyward has research publications on retinal disease (sudden acquired retinal degeneration syndrome, SARDS) and morphology.
