Biography

Jake graduated from Saint Michael's College in 2018 with a bachelor of science degree in biology, with specific focuses on ecology, animal behavior, evolutionary biology, and conservation. He spent the better part of a year focused on a project concerned with scanning and digitizing fragments of a replica "Lucy" skeleton (an ancient hominin relative of humans) to create an online database that students and researchers alike could access when conducting early primate research. From there he focused on zoology and primate conservation while working with Southwick's Zoo, laboring to spread awareness regarding the illegal pet trade and its impact on threatened and critically endangered species. After working for the Tzipori research lab as part of the Department of Infectious Disease and Global Health, he's happy to be back working with local wildlife, a lifelong passion.

When not at work you can find him reading about ancient history, mythology, anthropology, and paleontology, that is, if he isn't hiking or working at a local sanctuary with all manner of animals great and small.
