Sarah Lawson (she/her) believes that her affection for solving puzzles will serve her well in her capacity as Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine’s new curriculum administrator.

“I like solving puzzles of all kinds—jigsaw, tavern, sudoku, etc.,” she explains. “I enjoy working on the curriculum because it feels like one big puzzle, trying to get all the courses to fit together in the right order under a tight timeframe.” The new Doctor of Veterinary Medicine curriculum is proposed to start in August 2024 with an increase in the admitted class size by 25 students.

Lawson grew up in Arlington and holds a B.A. in elementary education from Mary Baldwin University and a M.S. Ed. in education, culture, and society from the University of Pennsylvania.

She comes to the Grafton campus from the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, where Lawson supported the nursing program’s transitioning to a hybrid/remote model because of COVID-19.

At Cummings School, she will help to foster the redesign of the D.V.M. program through curriculum mapping and assisting with integration across courses and threads, while supporting faculty development programs.

In her spare time, the Maynard resident enjoys hiking, cooking, and reading.
