Dominik Faissler, D.V.M., DECVN
Associate Professor, Clinical Sciences
- How do you start your day?
I drink a cup of coffee and sit down with my dog Dolly for 5 minutes to meditate about the challenges of the upcoming day.
- What is on your bucket list?
Ski Vail and Park City ski resorts, climb Mount Monadnock, attend some of the soccer world cup games 2026 in the US, participate at the Southwest F5J RC competition.
- What three words best describe you?
Hard worker, teacher for the next generation of veterinarians, believer in science.
- If you could time travel, what year(s) would you visit?
The early 2000 after I started here working for Tufts University.
- What is your hidden talent?
Storyteller.
- What book, movie, podcast, show would you recommend?
Movies to watch: Amarcord, Out of Africa, Gandhi, Dancing with Wolves.
- What is your dream vacation?
Explore Alaska.
- What or who has had the greatest impact on you?
My father, he cultivated my curiosity, the spirit of learning, taught me to be resilient and to be kind.
- What’s the best advice you ever received?
Never give up, you can do it.
- What is your least favorite word or phrase?
We can do everything and let us push the boundaries forward every day an inch.
- What is your favorite junk food?
Swiss chocolate! And only Swiss chocolate.
- What is your theme song?
Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. Great Queen and Freddy Mercury fan!!
- Dog or cat or ??
High level dog lover.
- Who would play you in a movie?
James Bond.
- What is your favorite season of the year?
Clearly Fall.
- What is your favorite color?
No question blue.
- Early bird or night owl?
Unfortunately, night owl.
- What is your biggest pet peeve?
At times inpatient and demanding.
- What is your favorite type of surprise?
A snowstorm with 18 inches of snow accumulation.
- What or who makes you smile?
A very good bottle of red wine.
