The Friesian Horse Association of North America (FHANA) Health Committee is pleased to announce its call for research proposals for the 2026 FHANA Research Grant. Committed to fostering advancements in equine health, wellness, and genetic preservation, the Health Committee will award a $10,000 grant to a standout research project initiated or advanced this year.

The TU-TM Research Enterprise is pleased to announce the launch of the 2026/2027 MTRG Pilot Awards. These pilot awards provide up to $50,000 for one year to support collaborative pilot research between Tufts University and Tufts Medicine faculty.
What this is for: These awards support investigators actively engaged in a Multidisciplinary Translational Research Groups (MTRG) within one of the five strategic research pillars (Brain and Behavior; Cancer Biology, Care, and Survivorship; Cardiovascular Disease and Critical Care; Transplant Immunity and Infection; or Women's Health, Nutrition, and Sex Differences). Funds are meant to support pilot collaborations to generate preliminary data needed for future external funding applications.
Eligibility
- Two or more PIs, with at least one PI employed at Tufts University and one at Tufts Medicine
- All PIs/Co-Is must hold an Instructor-level or higher academic appointment at a Tufts University school
- All the Investigators must be members of a TU-TM Research Enterprise MTRG within one of the 5 pillars, with a proven track record of meeting at least three MTRG meetings by the time of application submission.
Application Requirements
- Cover page with signatures
- Budget with justification
- 3-page research plan (abstract, background, approach, timeline)
- PI biosketches, active/pending support documentation
- Department chair letters of support confirming space and protected time
- As the awards are made possible by philanthropic investment in the TU-TM Research Enterprise, the cover page requires a lay summary and awardees must agree to contribute to donor stewardship activities

We are very pleased to announce that the Veterinary Pharmacology Research Foundation (VPRF) has opened their grant cycle for 2026. VPRF provides two types of grant applications, one in Veterinary Pharmacology for up to $30,000 and one in Veterinary Pharmacokinetics for up to $30,000.
Veterinary Pharmacology Grant
Submitted proposals should address one or more of the following aspects of veterinary medicine:
- Studies focused on evaluating the safety and effectiveness of novel or existing drug therapies for veterinary species
- Developing and validating models of animal diseases or conditions to evaluate drug effectiveness
- Ensuring that a safe food supply is not compromised by drug treatment
- Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) studies to understand the relationship between drug exposure and drug effect or safety
- Studies to evaluate mitigation of antimicrobial resistance in veterinary species
Veterinary Pharmacokinetic Grant
Submitted proposals should address the following aspect of veterinary pharmacokinetics:
*Studies focused on descriptive pharmacokinetic (PK) studies in veterinary species that will help define dosing regimens or enable future drug effectiveness evaluations or clinical trials.
Eligibility
- Any clinician or scientist with an interest in veterinary pharmacology is eligible to serve as Principal Investigator
- Collaboration with pharmacology researchers who are members or student members of the American Academy of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics as well as members or student members of the American Veterinary Medical Association is strongly encouraged.

Dear colleagues,
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals 2026 Research Grant RFP will be open 4/10 until 7/10 for research in any discipline that addresses a broad scope of topics in animal welfare: animal behavior, animal cruelty and/or psychological trauma as a consequence of cruelty, increasing access to veterinary care, farm animal welfare, or animal sheltering. Please feel free to share with any faculty or students who may be interested in applying.
The solicitation is also open to researchers studying topics with relevance to animal welfare (e.g., criminal justice, public health, psychology, economics) who wish to use the funding to add information about pet health, animal maltreatment, etc. to an existing study.

Feline RFP — Opens August 26
- Application pre-proposal period open August 26 — September 30
- Accepting Established Investigator, First Award, Pilot Study and Fellowship Training applications focused on any topic advancing the health and overall welfare of domesticated felines.
- Full proposal submission is by invitation only and is open November 18–December 30, 2026.
VSS RFP Round 2 — Opens October 7
- Application period open October 7–November 25
- Any relevant feline, canine, equid or wildlife health topic.
- Provides up to a $5,500 stipend to support DVM or equivalent students completing a short research project.
