All graduates and their guests are welcome to this celebratory evening full of awards and recognition for our graduates and faculty. (RSVP required).

All-University Commencement

Six (6) guest limit - tickets required.

Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University Commencement

There is no limit or restriction on the number of guests for the Grafton Campus ceremony. The ceremony is approximately 90-minutes in length with a reception following.

Rain and Severe Weather Plans

During severe weather or high-wind conditions, your safety is our primary concern. If outdoor viewing is restricted or unsafe, alternative viewing and shelter options are available in the following locations:

  • Varis Auditorium (capacity 169)

Graduation Clearance & Licensure

Ph.D. and Master’s Candidates

Graduation clearance for Ph.D. and Master’s candidates is managed within individual academic programs. Students should work directly with their program directors and administrative support staff to confirm degree completion requirements.

D.V.M. Graduation Clearance and Academic Review (V26)

As graduation approaches, the Registrar’s Office conducts a final academic review for D.V.M. students expected to graduate in May. Students are responsible for working closely with externship sites to ensure all evaluations are submitted in a timely manner.

Commencement Regalia Orders

Ordering Deadline: Sunday, March 29, 2026

All graduates participating in Commencement are responsible for ordering their own regalia through the official vendor. See email from CummingsSchoolCommencement@tufts.edu for additional details.

Graduation Announcements

Complimentary graduation announcements are available to all graduates. The announcement format is standardized across the university and is intended to mark this important milestone. Many graduates use these announcements as invitations, while others choose to send them alongside personalized invitations of their own.

Please indicate the number of announcements you would like to receive by completing the Graduate Survey.

Faculty Processional Instructions

Faculty members are requested to gather in the Loew Teaching Laboratory (Rm T011) at 2:30 PM to prepare for the ceremony.
 
Regalia & Preparation:
  • Pick-up: If you ordered regalia through Patty LaFluer, your items will be waiting for you in the lab.
  • Promptness: Please arrive on time to don your regalia and prepare for assembly.
 
Processional Details:
  • Faculty Liaison: Once assembled, please look to Madison Yardumian for guidance.
  • Coordination: To ensure a seamless and dignified event, please follow all instructions regarding order, timing, and movement.
  • Start Time: The procession will begin promptly at 3:00 PM.

Disability Services

If you or your guests would like to request accommodations, please contact Patty LaFleur, per the instructions listed in your graduating student's commencement correspondence. You can also email CummingsSchoolCommencement@tufts.edu with any needs or questions. Vehicles will be able to drive through the Library Circle to drop off passengers in front of the Library, and shuttle buses will run from the parking lots to the Library starting at 1:30 pm.

Accessible bathrooms will be located behind the Library to the side of the main tent, as well as in any of our campus buildings.

Service Animals

Whether you are a graduating student or a guest, service animals–as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)–are allowed at commencement ceremonies. All other animals are prohibited from University commencement ceremonies.

First Aid

There will be an EMS team and ambulance on site. Patrons needing medical attention should notify any uniformed official. If you need to contact Tufts University Police Department, please call 617-627-6911.
