Commencement
Commencement at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine marks an important milestone for our students and provides an opportunity for family, friends, faculty, and staff to honor their accomplishments.
Graduates are encouraged to participate in the full slate of Commencement events, including Dean Cribb’s Dinner, Tufts University Commencement, and Cummings School Commencement ceremony. Additional details for each event are provided below, and registration is required for select events. Both the Tufts University
Commencement exercises and Cummings School Commencement ceremony will be recorded for those unable to attend in person.
Commencement is held in two phases. Phase I is the University-wide ceremony, bringing together graduates from all schools and featuring the academic procession, the awarding of honorary degrees, recognition of faculty emeriti, acknowledgement of degree candidates by school, and the University Commencement address.
Phase II takes place on the Grafton campus and includes the presentation of diplomas to individual graduates of Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Each ceremony is held outdoors and lasts approximately 90 minutes; plan and dress accordingly.
