Prices and Financial Policies at Luke and Lily Lerner Spay/Neuter Clinic
To qualify for services at Luke and Lily Lerner Spay/Neuter Clinic (Lerner Clinic), a shelter or rescue organization must submit proof of 501(c)(3) status or be a town or city animal control officer. In most cases, private owners must have been referred from a low-cost assistance program to qualify for services.
Payment for services is due when the animal is picked up. The Lerner Clinic accepts cash. Payment by credit card is also available using our online system. Billing arrangements can be made only for our regular shelter clients. Services for the ISAAST (Junior Spay program) are free of charge. To offset the cost of our Community Cat spay/neuter services cats in a trap are charged $55. All other services involve a fee.
Cost for services will depend on the qualifications of the party requesting services. Shelters, Rescues, and ACOs will communicate directly with our clinic coordinators. Privately owned pets in need of surgical services may be referred to Lerner Clinic only at the request of their referring veterinarian. For referring veterinarians that wish to refer a case, please email lernerclinic@tufts.edu to inquire about availability and we will email you a survey requesting patient and owner information. Once you have completed the survey, the Lerner Clinic staff will contact the owner to discuss availability and cost for services.
