Tufts fits me and my veterinary aspirations perfectly. At Tufts, I am able to explore the clinical skills that save animals’ lives while also developing my background in public health theory – establishing habits and relationships that will enable me to adapt to the evolving veterinary field.

Cummings School was a natural progression from my past experiences. I graduated from Northwestern University with a double bachelor’s in Biological Sciences and Political Science in 2012. My concentration was in Developmental and Evolutionary Biology, which has given me a great foundation for comparative medicine.

I was drawn to Cummings School for its strong programs in such areas as international and wildlife medicine, and other, perhaps less traditional, areas of veterinary medicine. Also, I’m a true New Englander and certainly more a country than a city person, so the location was ideal for me.
The DVM/MPH program is designed to prepare veterinary students for a career in public health, or to better apply the principles of epidemiology and public health to more traditional forms of practice or research.
