COVID-19 Guidance: Guidance and operational updates for Cummings School and its veterinary teaching hospitals

Summer Research Training Program

The Summer Research Training Program is offered by the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University and is partially supported by a grant from the NIH's NCRR. This program is intended to help students crystallize their interest in research, make them aware of their research potential, and familiarize them with the opportunities inherent in a research career by exposing them to an active biomedical research environment. The following points are emphasized during the training period:

  • How to evaluate a scientific article
  • How to design an experiment
  • How to organize and critically analyze data
  • How to translate data into hypothesis
  • How to transmit research information in writing and speech
