Why did you choose to pursue this degree, and why did you choose Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine to pursue this degree?

While I was searching for a program that could expand my knowledge in public health, none of the programs checked all my interests. I think MAPP is a unique program that offers the knowledge and communication skills that will allow me to be a better veterinarian.

Communication skills: I started training technicians and assistants for specialty departments about a year and a half ago. It made me realize how much I enjoy teaching and how good I was at it. I learned different learning styles to ensure their success but felt that my communication skills could be better and should be better if I were ever to hold an administrative position.

Human and animal bond: It can be very difficult to feel for a client when they make decisions, not in favor of their pets. As a veterinarian or administrator, I should have a more logical approach to my interactions and this program offers classes that can help me get there.

What are your career goals after completing the program?

I plan on applying to veterinary school, and my end goal is to be a director.
