Dr. Sarah Weinberg grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of California Berkeley, where she majored in molecular environmental biology. In college, she developed an interest in infectious disease and wildlife. After graduating, she worked as an intern in the veterinary department at Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo. Working at the zoo deepened her interest in conservation medicine. During veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Weinberg was involved in several clubs, including the Wildlife Disease Association and the One Health Club. Her interests in veterinary medicine include conservation medicine and infectious diseases, specifically zoonotic diseases. She is also a candidate for an MPH degree from the University of Minnesota.
In her free time, Dr. Weinberg enjoys running, backpacking, traveling and cooking. When not at the wildlife clinic, you will often find her listening to podcasts with her rabbit, Hazel, or checking out a nearby trail.
