Biography

Dr. Kayla Sample grew up in San Diego, California moving to New England to refine her passion for community medicine. Dr. Sample has dedicated herself to maintaining the human-animal bond by providing high-quality veterinary care to all pet owners.

Her love of animals has always been apparent as her first word was her dog’s name! Growing up, she volunteered with rescue organizations and served as a puppy raiser for Guide Dogs of America. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California Davis and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota.

Throughout her education, Dr. Sample worked extensively with community outreach programs and shelters. As part of her goal to provide veterinary care for all members of our community she is improving her Spanish language skills to remove the language barriers clients may face when seeking care for their animals. She is a Fear Free certified professional and works to implement low stress handling techniques with all her patients.

Dr. Sample completed a Small Animal Community Medicine internship, and after her internship, she served as Medical Director for the Monty Tech Veterinary Clinic.  We are thrilled for her to return as our first Community Medicine Resident at Tufts at Tech Community Veterinary Clinic.  Her passion for teaching and true love for her patients makes her a great addition to our clinical team!
