BS, Equine Studies: Equine Science from University of New Hampshire

Why did you choose to pursue this degree, and why did you choose Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine to pursue this degree?

I like the variety in courses that are offered that will add to the base education I received in my undergraduate program. After being in the hands-on part of the equine industry for a couple years, I decided I wanted to take a step back without leaving the animal industry permanently. I was also looking for a program that was concise and I would be able to get the knowledge I needed to build up, without being in a program for an extended period of time.

I was drawn to this program because of the classes available to take, I am excited to continue expanding my knowledge of animals outside of the equine industry and how they impact the world.

What are your career goals after completing the program?

I don’t have a set goal yet, I would like to return to the equine industry in some form at sometime in the near future. I also would like to work with rescue and rehabilitation, I am particularly interested in Mustang land conservation and protection.
