Biography
Hello! My name is Mckenzie Munday, but I go by Reagan. I am originally from Knoxville, TN and attended Furman University in Greenville, SC. I graduated from there in 2021 after majoring in Biology Environment and Conservation. I am also a part of the class of 2026 at the University of TN College of Veterinary Medicine. At Furman, I discovered my passion for conservation after studying abroad in Belize, the Amazon basin, and the Galapagos Islands. I was able to assist in efforts related to coral regrowth and participate in rehabilitation and release efforts of endangered giant Galapagos tortoises. I also completed bottlenose dolphin research related to their residency and site fidelity. This program is the perfect combination of my passions, conservation and veterinary medicine, and will teach me skills that I can apply in my future career. My career goals are to become a veterinarian with a focus in either marine animal medicine or large exotics. I would love to participate in rehabilitation and release efforts of endangered species while also focusing on research and public education. Outside of my conservation interests, I love pretty much anything that involves being outside such as hiking, skiing, beach days, kayaking, and boating. I am a big foodie that loves exploring the local food and drink scene. I also play basketball and volleyball and would love to get people together to play if possible. I currently have three Great Danes (my parents are crazy) and a cat. I am so excited to start this master’s program however I have never experienced a northern winter so when I am amazed by all the snow please be patient with me!
