Internships, Residencies & Fellowships

Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine offers internships and residencies to qualified candidates who learn from experienced faculty members and clinicians while supporting their work in the school’s seven hospitals and clinics. Interns receive strong clinical experience and didactic training for future residencies or independent veterinary work.

One-year internships are available in either large animal surgery or medicine/mass equine, exotic medicine, or small animal rotations, and specialties including anesthesiology, cardiology, clinical trials, community medicine, emergency medicine and critical care, neurology/neurosurgery, ophthalmology, and zoological companion animal medicine.

Three-year residency options prepare candidates for American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine certification and are offered in most of internship disciplines, as well as anatomic pathology, dermatology, diagnostic imaging and radiology, and either small animal internal medicine, medical oncology or surgery.
