COVID-19 Guidance: Guidance and operational updates for Cummings School and its veterinary teaching hospitals

Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University invites applications for a 2-year maximum fixed-term appointment as an assistant clinical professor in emergency and critical care (ECC). This position focuses on clinical activity and clinical teaching within the Foster Hospital for Small Animals. We seek an enthusiastic, team-oriented clinician who will provide outstanding patient care, client care, and service to our referring veterinarians. A commitment to student learning and house officer training is expected.

This position will include 35 – 39 weeks of assigned clinical time (including evenings and weekends), with an additional 9- 12 weeks available for off-clinic teaching and scholarly activity.  The selected candidate is expected to assist with board preparation sessions, journal club, clinical skills laboratories, and communications training.  Participation in service to the school and university is also expected.

Requirements include a DVM degree (or equivalent) and completion of an American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) or European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ECVECC) approved residency.  Preference will be given to individuals who hold ACVECC/ECVECC board certification and who have post-residency clinical experience.  Rank and salary will be commensurate with training and experience.
