Health Services & Counseling

Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University offers a student injury and sickness insurance plan, through UnitedHealthcare StudentResources (UHCSR), underwritten by HPHC Insurance Company. UHCSR coverage includes primary and emergency care, major medical coverage, a prescription plan, eye care, and mental health benefits. The student insurance runs from September 1 through August 31 each year.

Student who are currently enrolled in an alternate insurance plan must determine if their plan qualifies for a waiver, based on Massachusetts State Law. Waiver forms, including the qualifications, are available at the Student Advisory & Health Administration Office and must be submitted each academic year.

The Student Advisory and Health Administration Office, where waiver forms are processed, also maintains immunization records and arranges counseling appointments on campus. The Student Dental Health Service will provide routine preventative dental care. The fee charged to cover these services is mandatory for all students.
