The Luke and Lily Lerner Spay Neuter Clinic (LSNC) provides students at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts with opportunities for surgical training while serving pets in need. The mission of the LSNC is to instruct veterinary students in the best practices of small-animal sterilization surgeries, to provide free or low-cost services to pets in need from the surrounding community and to provide the surgical training component for the Tufts Shelter Medicine Program.

Off campus offerings include a Pet Smart Charities-funded rotation in pediatric spay neuter through a partnership with the Animal Shelter, Inc. in Sterling MA, as well as additional surgical opportunities for clinical year students through electives.
The Lerner clinic team has continued to expand the services to animals in need. Recently added was the Van Sloan Community Medicine dental unit, affording shelters assistance with dental cleanings. We have also begun helping our outreach clients with end-of-life care.
