Open House Activities
The Cummings School's Open House is our community's opportunity to share the joys of our profession with the public and provides a chance for those interested to get a closer look at veterinary medicine. A wide range of activities are offered for your enjoyment, such as:
- Self Guided Tours
- Walk through the Foster Hospital for Small Animals, Hospital for Large Animals and our campus farm to see how a veterinary school functions on a daily basis.
- Birds of Prey Exhibit
- Watch these avian marvels take flight in the newest addition to the Cummings School campus, the Agnes Varis Auditorium.
- Hay Rides
- Back by popular demand! Tour the best parts of the Cummings School's 600-acre campus to get a snapshot of the breadth of offerings here.
- Admissions and AVM Booths
- Chat with an admissions counselor about what it takes to get into veterinary school, and learn more about our summertime Adventures in Veterinary Medicine program.
- Dog Demonstrations
- Watch police, assistance and carting dogs demonstrate the training required of them, as well as a dog agility exhibition.
- Teddy Bear Clinic
- Bring your injured teddy bears and other friends to the teddy bear clinic for a quick bandage or to repair a tear and leave with a lollipop for yourself.
- Veterinary Exhibits
- Educational demonstrations including small animal ultrasound demonstration and a hands-on laboratory exhibit.
- Farm Animals
- Self guided walking tour of our campus farm. See piglets, sheep, cows and horses.
