Advanced Surgery Elective

Each spring the Cummings School enrolls fourth-year veterinary candidates in a strategic, high-volume spay/neuter service. This service is designed to spay and neuter a large number of animals and to enhance the surgical skills of the students. The Lerner Spay/Neuter Clinic accepts shelter dogs and cats from shelter or rescue organizations with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. To qualify and animal must:

• have no serious underlying disease,
• be free of heart murmurs,
• be between three months and ten years of age.

The The 2013 dates are the weeks of March 11, March 18, April 15, April 22, and May 6. A price list of the procedures can be found on the Financial Policies page.
