Assistant/Associate Professor in Radiation Oncology

The Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University invites applications for a full time faculty position in radiation oncology, at the Associate Professor or Assistant Professor level. The position will involve clinical service; clinical and didactic teaching of students, interns and residents; and research. Requirements include a DVM or equivalent degree, and ACVR (radiation oncology) board certification or board eligibility, or completion of an ACVR (radiation oncology) approved residency or its equivalent. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. There is potential flexibility in the time commitment to clinical service and other activities that the position will entail.

The Harrington Oncology Program has a large clinical caseload, robust student teaching and house officer training programs, and numerous extramurally funded research efforts. The program is staffed by three board certified medical oncologists and three medical oncology residents. The clinical service is supported by excellent surgical, internal medicine, anesthesiology, critical care and diagnostic imaging services. State-of-the-art equipment is available on-site for helical CT scanning, MRI, nuclear scintigraphy, and three dimensional CT—and MRI—based radiation treatment planning. Radiation therapy is delivered by a Siemens linear accelerator with 6MV photon, 6-21 MeV electron and IMRT capabilities. Strontium 90 plesiotherapy is also offered. Ample opportunity exists for collaborative research within the New England medical community.
