Health Management for Owners

In order to provide the best care for your animal, whether it is a horse, alpaca or farm animal, the faculty and staff at the Hospital for Large Animals takes a team approach. The team is made up of the specialists at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, your referring veterinarian and yourself—the owner. To keep everyone on the team aware of potential health care concerns, communication and education are essential.

To this end, the Cummings School provides information on everything from hyperkalemic periodic paralysis to how travel affects a healthy horse. It is the Cummings School's hope that you will find the information useful in terms of diseases or problems your animal may face.
