Computed tomography (CT) is available for use in our horse, farm animal and camelid patients. CT provides images of the bone and soft tissue structures of the head and legs. It is commonly used at Tufts to assess sinus and dental problems. Bone infections in foals are more readily diagnosed using CT than regular radiographs.

The Cummings School's Hospital for Large Animals is one of the few hospitals that have the ability to CT horses and other large patients. We have a specially designed and constructed table that allows us to position horses to image their heads and legs. Our team of clinicians, radiologists and anesthesiologists work together to utilize this powerful and versatile diagnostic tool.

Please contact the Hospital for Large Animals to make an appointment.
