Mission Statement

The mission of the Greening the Grafton Campus Committee (GGCC), an ad hoc committee comprising representative members of the Grafton campus community, is fundamentally to identify, investigate, and address the environmental impacts of any activities occurring on the Grafton Campus. The committee is charged with developing recommendations for reasonable solutions to decrease negative environmental impacts when possible. The mission is loosely defined and subject to change as the needs of the campus and the environment evolve.

We hope to fulfill our mission through:

• Increasing awareness across the community to promote individual sensitivity to environmental issues
• Providing resources for the community to facilitate environmentally sensitive behavior and decision making
• Acting as a sounding board for community concerns about the environment and responsibly responding to those concerns
• Providing a mechanism for all members of the community including students, to participate in affecting environmental choices made by the University
• Actively developing and implementing solutions to environmental issues
• Building bridges with our partners in Medford and Boston engaged in similar activities
