Why give to the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University?

What sets us apart from other animal-focused organizations is our commitment to educating new leaders. We provide outstanding teaching to prepare the next generation of veterinarians. We dedicate ourselves to providing compassionate and sensitive care for companion animals, livestock and wildlife. And, we draw on clinical work, field studies, laboratory science and interdisciplinary perspectives to stay on the cutting edge of research benefiting animal and human public health. Founded in 1978, the Cummings School has emerged as a powerful influence on the future of veterinary medicine—locally, across the nation and around the world.

What is the giving year for Tufts University?

The giving year (fiscal year) for Tufts University runs from July 1 – June 30.

What are the highest funding priorities for the Cummings School?

First, we seek to increase financial aid to our students. Second, we aim to recruit and support more top faculty. Third, we must add and equip more key facilities. Fourth, we will bolster support of current and new academic programs. Your gift is an investment that will ensure Tufts' position at the forefront of veterinary medicine for generations to come.

What does my unrestricted gift to the Cummings Veterinary Fund support?

The Cummings Veterinary Fund supports all of the above with immediate results. A gift to the Veterinary Fund strengthens the school's good work every day. Annual unrestricted gifts from alumni, parents and friends enable the school to provide financial aid for worthy students, to purchase new equipment for the veterinary hospitals, to develop new academic programs and clinical services, to expand library and computer resources, and to support studies that promote animal health.
