To make an appointment please call Foster Hospital for Small Animals appointment desk at (508) 839-5395. Appointment hours are normally Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, although the exact hours and days vary with specialty.
What to Bring
Please bring the contact information (name, phone and address) of your primary care veterinarian. If possible, also bring lab results, X-rays and other diagnostic images, and a copy of your pet’s medical record or a referral letter from your veterinarian. Your pet should be on a leash or in a pet carrier. We discourage bringing bedding and toys, as these are provided by the hospital.
How to Choose a Specialty Service
Your primary care veterinarian will advise as to which service you should see. If you do not have a veterinarian, our client liaisons can help you choose a service based on the nature of your pet’s problem.
What Happens During an Appointment
You should leave one-to-two hours for an appointment. Your pet will be seen first by a fourth-year veterinary student, who will take a medical history and conduct a physical exam, followed by a veterinarian, who may ask some additional questions and re-examine your pet. All decisions regarding the treatment of your pet will be made by you and your team of veterinarians and faculty specialists.
