I have been teaching for over 30 years and currently teach pharmacology and conduct research on liver diseases. I enjoy teaching because I learn more when I am teaching; it also gives me great pleasure see our students succeed. I do research because this allows us to gain new knowledge.
I am interested in improving global health and educating future generation of scientists in the field. Cummings school is a student-centered institution and I enjoy interacting with students; it is an ideal place for formal and informal interactions between faculty and students. This new program will allow students to learn about infectious diseases in the context of global health. As a community, we may learn more about what kinds of research need to be done to improve global health.
