Cinta Burgos, ASQ CQA

As a Quality Assurance consultant for biopharmaceuticals and medical devices, I have been involved in biotech, medical device, and medical industry research for over 20 years. I am currently supporting the Tufts Regional Biocontainment Laboratory (RBL) with pre-clinical Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) studies.

I love teaching and look forward to connecting academia with industry. I enjoy working with companies and academic groups to help bring life-changing medical products to market. It’s exciting to see ideas move from research to industrial applications through pre-clinical studies. Regulations such as Good Laboratory Practices and other FDA guidance documents need to be interpreted and applied to each situation because every laboratory, product, and indication is different – which keeps my work interesting.

I see students benefitting in many ways from this program. Cummings School has a dedicated staff of scientists working towards the greater good, set in New England in a hub of innovation. I believe a master’s degree in Infectious Disease and Global Health is a very timely pursuit given today’s health and political challenges.
